From October 23rd to November 1st Genoa will host the 7th edition of "Festival della Scienza" with over 300 events taking place along streets and squares as well as in museums and "palazzi" in Genoa and neighborhoods. The main theme chosen for this year's edition is the future. The Festival presents a program which is so rich and wide as far as culture and science are concerned; on this occasion there is a coming-together of exhibitions, workshops, interactive education programs, conferences, open discussions, theatre & music shows and film showings. All this is perfectly arranged into 5 theme sections: future of life, future of universe, future of nature, future of technology and future of ideas.
Genoa Festival della Scienza is the most attended event which is related to scientific popularization all over Europe, and subsequently has transformed Italy into the international reference for the scientific world. "Once again, even at the coming edition, the main Italian scientific institutions are present at the Festival, and they are deeply involved into developing a more strict relationship between science and society; this aims to get people with a deeper love and knowledge for what research is and does and for its beauties, and obviously to get people to a deeper awareness of what technological development truly means", said Manuela Arata, the Festival chairwoman. "In order to deal with such a challenging issue such as Future, we have invited the most brilliant and communicative personalities, both from Italy and from abroad, to join us at the Festival; this is to offer such a wide and interesting program which, we truly believe, could meet even the most demanding requests and all the different tastes", said Vittorio Bo, the Festival chairman.
